Wow, I didn't know that. Quite relevant info I would think though I was told by the dealer in Guadalajara that the manual would be in Spanish. Portuguese would be even tougher for me. Hope there's not too much difference in the car in Mexico than in the U.K.

Ditto for the US version. I know they're planning to change it, but the existing car is such a winner, I hope they don't muck it up! They should focus on getting the car to the USA faster rather than changing it. BTW, now that you've conquered the Owner's Manual, maybe you're looking for a new challenge - could you take on speeding up delivery to the USA? This country is so Jabba running on fumes - the Fit could be the beginning of a paradigm shift (stealing the Nissan catchword there Oh well...)
