I keep seeing pictures on here with people cars having something hanging out of the front bumper... What is it? And what is the threaded hole for anyway?

 

the hole is a plastic cover that you can easily remove and screw in anafter market tow hook or factory tow hook....
the hanging out piece is an aftermarket tow hook.

 

Front Tow Hook?

 

They are tow hooks. It someplace solid to attach a winch to if your cars needs to be towed. There is a ring you can screw into the threads, found with your tire iron.

 

I kind of figured thats what it was for but i had to ask since i saw pictures of peoples cars with things hanging off of the front bumper... to each his own i guess!

 

it's a towhook. makes a car easier to steal. just wrap a cable and pull

 

Its a plastic 'patch' over a threaded hole in which a tow ring is screwed in so the Fit can be towed to the carrier. Eliminates unsightly tow rings often found under bumpers that tow vehicles used to wreck bumpers.
The tow ring is supposed to be in your flat tire 'kit'.
Aftermarket it probably isn't.

 

yeah. that is an eyelet cover. when on the ship from JDMland, the cars are secured by their tiedown. the tiedown is found in the tool kit.

 

If you check your tools pouch next to spare tire there 2 tow hook also, just saw them last week...

 

thats what that thing was.... i saw it in the tool kit and was like wtf what is this...
