Interesting - shortages seem to be confined to the US? Maybe dealers there underestimated how many they would sell this year?

I think that the U.S is starting to feel the gas price increases.
Gas is $6.02 a gallon in Regina. We have had the Smart Fortwo and other small cars for a while now.
Small cars like the Fit make so much sense that people want them, now!

I see lots in the twin cites

They seem to be popping up everywhere here - my car's no longer unique.
Within a 5-6 block radius of my house I regularly see 5 other fits, 4 of them Sports. I have a coworker who bought a TW one. And I see at least one every day now on the road...

On top of that, when I happen to be able to walk by to see what tranny they have - I'd say 2/3 of the ones I've seen are MT!

I see a lot more Fits on the road than Yarii and Versas, for sure.....

Not sure about the US, but the M/T is popular up here as we get $1000 rebate from the government due to the Fit M/T's fuel economy.

Sweet!

I just put a deposit down on a 2008 Fit AT Vivid Blue, and the dealer is telling me he can't find any in blue anywhere, but when I called another deal they said they had one. Not sure whats going on. Hope to have my Fit soon though

I took mine in today for yearly inspection - (Hard to believe it's been one year on 05/17/08). They had zero Fits on the lot - the salesman said they can't keep them on the lot since the gas prices started going up. He said they had 4 Civic Hybrids and they all sold within a few days. Sounds like 2008 Fits are going to be harder to fine.

I pick up my new Fit Sport Vivid Blue AT tonight. It took 10 days for it to arrive, but they are selling as fast as they come in. Maybe 2 or 3 days go by and the Fits are sold. I'm in Eastern PA. The one dealer laughed at me and asked if I wanted "any other car".
