gonna buy my first FIT
Hi guys Names Allen I just got home from Iraq and want another car thats better on gas and has a ton of after market support. So naturally honda is #1. I currently own a 05' Durango and a 68' Camaro as you can imagine they arn't very great on gas.
I'm looking at getting a new 09' but I'm curious if should just get a 08' when the 09's are about to come out and save a few bucks.
my plans are wheels and tires, body kit (not sure if im gonna go JDM or not) hids, full interior, sound and video, intake/exhaust, suspension and maybe S/C I'll also change the front seats for something better.
my brothers both have heavily moded cars, my twin has a S/C'd KIA (only one that wasn't built by kia for sema) and my little brothers Colorado was in truckin' magazine 3 months in a row.

The current gen Fit has a pretty big aftermarket following, so finding parts, both performance and JDM, will be relatively easy. I would go against getting a 1st year car and get either an '07 or '08. (Plus there are more parts out for the '07-08 Fit than for the 2nd gen anyway.)

Allen,
Thanks for your service in Iraq! I have a 08 Sport AT and I love it and 26+ city MPG and I usually drive like a bat out of hell! Highway MPG is even better. I wanted to wait on the 09 Fit due to improvements (covered well on the net) but I bought the 08 since my Ford F-150 was running $75 per fill up. The 08 Fit is well covered for mods, suspension, body kits, many air intake systems, exhaust and super charger even a few turbo kits. It may take some time for the mod parts to adapt to the 09 Fit. The 09 Fit will be a bit more than the 08's and hard to get when they come out around September 08 or so.
Good luck!

The difference between sport and base is mostly appearance. Sport has the lip kit, alloys, nicer head unit, 6 speaker system and fog lights. The auto sports have the paddle shifters.

Doesn't the base fit have 14" wheels & the sport has 15" alloys (as mentioned above)...and optional 16" (at least in '07).

hello, my name is david im allens (31bravos) twin i have a few question regarding the fit sport auto. will it hold the hp from the supercharger or will there need to be torque converter and valve body upgrades in order for the trans. to hold the power.

As far as I know, no modifications need to be made to the tranny when the Fit's engine is SC'd.

To my knowledge the AT doesn't need that for mild horsepower increase but there are some that already bought the tranny cooler anyways, but it is easier to get a hold of a FI kit if the fit is a manual instead of an auto

The 09 has a little more rear knee room and a little more hp (120 vs 109) but weighs more so you decide on $ worth. Be sure to note aftermarket wheels need to have 45 mm offset if you lower the Fit. They are outstanding driver's cars compared to Yaris and Versa ( drives like my dad's 1980 Olds.)

down here, there are only 2 trim levels. so we have no mid-level.

uh most people say 16's are just right, some prefer 15's.
right now im rocking 17x7.5 45 offset . check the shoes forum for all your wheel needs.
there is also a nitrous thread aswell. i dont think i have heard anyone yet to run nitrous on there fit, but i think nx said that the 35 shot would be fine.
yall should buy my fit here in sd. gives you a good baseline all you would need to do is s/c or turbo and your set haha....
but get a sport, for the extra what 1300 you get cruise control, lip kit(that looks pretty good imo) all of that is totally worth it. even though you may plan on getting a new lip.....you cant beat the quality of this lip kit.
