Viper 5002 Installed tomorrow!!

Due to my recent violation to my almost month old 08 Fit Sport 5 speed, I'm getting a Viper 5002 alarm system installed tomorrow. With the microphone sensor added as well. I'll let you know how it goes. I wanted the 5900, but since i don't have an auto, it isn't necessary with the remote start.

If you don't know the story, search my name and see pics. Car is good now, looks great, but.... the stupid TPMS light came on and i here a weird flickering air escaping or rubbing sound out the front left wheel. Basically, it's good except for that. Also, the side body kit pieces actually look better than they did straight from the dealer. They replaced them at the shop and they don't have that typical plastic body kit "wave" any more.

No one will f*** with my car anymore!!!! haha

alright! Got it on. Now i'm not paranoid. If you knock on my wheels with your hands, it sends a nice warning. but.... if you gently rock it, it won't. Weird. I might have the installer up the sensitivity of the "level sensor" which he said i might want done. Anyway, I love it. It takes a while to learn the remote. but, it's great. Also got the Honda wheel locks on today. They work well, i'm actually trying to get Honda to pay for them. I'm in contact with a general manager after complaining about the fact Honda's come stock with the ability to easily take wheels off and break into the car. My VW didn't have that problem. I told Honda, if they don't "help" me in the crappy situation i went through after owning the new car only a week, i don't want any more Hondas. I bought a Honda to keep it out of the shop, not in it 75% of the time i own it. Anyway, we'll see how that goes, going well so far. But, i recommend this Viper 5002 system. It works great. If you have an auto and want remote start, go for the 5900.

congrats on your new alarm. does it have a sensor that will trigger the alarm if your car is being moved. such as from getting jacked up on one side or getting pulled onto a trailerbed? also, make i'd advise that you don't put up a bunch of decals advertising the alarm system you have installed on your car. i see that sometimes and it just seems counterproductive to tell potential thieves what type of alarm you have installed.

i dont know about the body kit "wave" on the OEM skirts that you're talking about though. i think that's more typical of aftermarket fiberglass body parts, or just cheaply made pieces?

i've noticed the "wave" on many OEM side skirts and aftermarket parts as well. I have a good eye for that stuff. I used to detail for Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi. Most plastic parts aren't as smooth after the painting as you'd expect. For entire fascia's they look nice, but on the "little" parts is where it's noticeable. Mine were definately not perfect from the dealership, and the body shop fixed that.

As far as the alarm, I turned the microphone sensitivity way up. So if you tap the rims with metal, even your knuckle, it warns, then goes off. But, if you rock it quietly, it won't do a thing. I think the sensitivity in the "level sensor" is not up far enough. The installer said it will go off if someone jacks it, but i'm not so sure. I sure feel a lot better though. If i piss neighbors off i don't care. They didn't have their rims stolen on a week old car like i did. They sure didn't let me know it happened or help me find out who.
