43.8 mpg

Boston to Albany and back on the Mass Pike with some in-city driving at each end. I tried a variety of techniques discussed on this board. Most importantly, I kept the speed down to 60-65. I got off the gas pedal whenever I could having learned that no fuel goes through the injectors when you're in gear with no throttle. I drafted some trucks here and there at a safe (1-2 second) distance. I tried some engine-off coasting on some of the bigger hills but I'm not sure it's something I'd want to make a habit of. I also had topped up my tires to a still-reasonable 36 psi cold inflation pressure.

Average over 2 fillups was 43.8 mpg. On one tank I had 230 miles on th OD before the fuel gauge hit the halfway point.

It's pretty remarkable how much your driving style can influence mileage.

My parents were helping me move this weeking and we averaged about 38 mpg. I had my car filled with stuff, probably equivalent to 550lbs including me of weight.

Good to see another 40+mpg story. You might be able to eek out a little more if you fill the tires up to the sidewall rating, 40-45psi I think, depending on the tire. 45psi has made a difference for me at least.
