Tar on my Fit?

As I've stated before, I hate washing my Fit, as I always find marks and such on it after a wash. That and it always rains after I wash it, like today, 10 minutes after I finish, it starts to pour!!!

Today I found something strange on my windshield and front bumper, tar and burn marks, or at least that's what is looks like to me. There was a big chunk of it on my windshield, I thought it was bird poop so I didn't pay it any mind. But today when I tried to remove it, it was a bit gooey and very sticky. And there were some of it on the front bumper too, but after I got it off it left a mark. This stuff was black/dark brown, anyone seen anything like that?

mhmm, don't drive behind big vehicles (on new roads). If you drive on new asphalt at higher speeds it could/does fling up in your wheel well n stuff too. Lower speeds if it's hot out also, it could/does stick to your tires. lol, on my lesabre there's a splash of concrete that got on the drivers side behind the front wheel Only way to get that off is to sand like mad. Friend of mine got tar on his car when they laid down new asphalt, I think he got it off by just washing it enough times and the stuff started to fade and you could see more n more red. Could try some cleaners to like googone or something.

i use those RC car motor sprays on a towel to remove tar, but you
can use bug&tar remover, WD40, or even just a tab of wax to remove it.

gasoline also works too...probably the best, but has a pretty strong
smell, and probably dont want to toss that in your trash can unless
you have a oily can. i use this in my garage.

a former county road guy told me to use mayonaise to remover the gooey rubbery crap they use to fill cracks on our roads. I never got enough of the stuff on my old car to care so I never tried it but it might help.

Yes, WD40. Make sure you spray it on a rag. Dont spray it onto your car as the overs pray will leave grease spots.

Ah yes...tar spots...the only bad thing about owning a white car. I have always used WD40 for that. Works great! Dont forget to wash off where you applied it though.

I actually used a little bit of scratch remover and it came off. I'll try WD40 next time.

yah, came off with your clearcoat. i'd use the WD40 first next time or
just about any wax will remove tar stains.

I had thought it was burn marks, so I figure I had nothing to lose. Will definitely use WD40 next time, I had no idea it can be used this way.
