AC condensation?

Wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue...
I don't run the ac often, but when I do I find that I get condensation on my dash right above the 2 vents in the center. Even when the fan is on the lowest (1) setting...
It's not a huge issue since I don't run it often, just wondering if anyone has dealt with this or if I should take it back to have it checked....

This is most likely happening because you have it set to fresh instead of recirculate. BTW your AC will work much better in the recirculate setting as well.

MIne does the exact same thing. Been meaning to post about it also. I bet you have those center vents aimed down as low as possible right? When you do that the lower 2 levels or so of the vent are blowing under the dash. Move the vent up and you will notice it not happen nearly as much, if at all.

is the fog inside or outside. if outside it can be from high humidity
and your air being set too cold.

My dash has had condinsation on it a few times as well... i've noticed it on the days the humidity is high though... i wouldnt worry about it... unless you have water dripping out of your dash.

This is not uncommon. The dealer has a recommendation as to how to eliminate the issue.

You have to move to the Atacama desert in Chile. No humidity = no condensation!

I've seen it this past week on really humid days on my ash as well. I had the vents set really low, and when I turned them all the way the problem went away. So now, anytime I don't the air blowing directly at me, I just turn them all the way up so the car still gets nice and cool

I would definitely say so. By using recirc you're trapping that smoke in the cabin air filter and air ducts. You will start to find that when you go from fresh air to recirc, you'll get a strong cigarette odor because there's no outside air bypassing it anymore to mask the smell. Once it has soaked into everything, the recirc will just keep drawing it out and back into the cabin air.

You'll also find that your windows (particularly the windshield) will get a greasy haze on them that's a pain to clean off. It will also slow your defrost time dramatically.

If you must smoke while driving, it's best to crack a window and have your AC on fresh air until you're done.

I get it too on humid days. It's on the outside.
