commercial

I just saw the commercial as well but I doubt there will be big price breaks. I've never seen more than two at once in any Kansas City dealership anyway. I'm unhappy about seeing more fits on the road but that can't be helped. Hell I bought one!

Current Offers - the Official Honda Web Site

I am flabbergasted that anyone thibnks a popular product should be discounted? What are they teaching in school nowdays? Never mind I know its 'indoctranation', not education.

Just bought my 2008 BBP Fit Sport Saturday, and actually managed to get the dealership to throw in a free year's worth of gas (the radio spot didn't say "select models only" ). I did pay full MSRP, though.

I was watching the news on CNN this morning and there was a 10 or 15 second spot for the Fit. Not a sale, just hyping the model.

It's been a long time since I saw a TV ad for the Fit.

I'm in the same two percent as you. The only two extras I ordered was one accessorie (trunk mat) and gap coverage, since my insurance doesn't offer it.

If anyone wants an extended warranty, but doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, I'd try Warranty Direct. I have it on my 2002 Focus, and was able to purchase a 5-year plan for it in 2004, with 30K already on the car, for $833. I've had no problems with WD for the 2 mechanical issues (water pump and master brake cylinder) I've had with my car, and they are very easy to work with. No, I don't work for them.

Yeah, I saw Mr. Opportunity hawk the Fit for a split second on the Honda Clearance Sale TV commercial, but only once. I wonder if they pulled that bit because it's already selling so well.

I bought the extended warranty for $1,300. Its bumper to bumper for 6years or 100,000 miles wich ever one i get to first. I have had my fit for a week and 4 days bought it with 137 miles on her. Now she has 530 miles. I payed 18,300 OTD. So i had a mark up on mine. But to get the vivid blue sport in Manual the one i wanted brand new it was worth it to me.

Just a note about extended warranties from 3rd party companies. I paid over 2k for an extended warranty when we bought my Wife's Mercedes used. It was a 7 year, 100,000 mile 'exlcusionary' (I hope I spelled that correctly) warranty. She only drives about 10,000 miles a year and the car had 30k on it when we bought it, so I expected to be covered for 7 years. I did some reasearch on the company I bought it from and they appeared to have a pretty good record for an extended warranty company. They were also insured (later I found out they were basically insured by the same people). Anyhow, 2 years into the contract the company went bankrupt. Now I'm stuck with a worthless contract and basically out 2k dollars. I will never buy another 3rd party warranty. If you do buy one, make sure it's one that lists what they "exclude", not what they "include". My buddy had the tranny go out in his PT Cruiser and his warranty only paid for about 1/2 the repair. Thousands stuck with worthless car warranties

I bought the extended warranty on mine initially for around $2300 for 6/100k. However a couple months later I went back and asked for a refund for it. Took them a long time and a lot of phone calls and a call from my family's lawyer and I eventually got my money back on it. 2 weeks later the company went bankrupt.

honda ignoring the fit

Tonight I just saw a fascinating Honda Fit commercial showing how a kayak could "fit" inside the vehicle with the passenger seat down. This car is going to appeal to a wide range of age groups....
