Mild tick on cold 2008 Fit

Hi all. I received my 2008 Fit about a month ago and couldn't be happier. So far I've put about 1400 miles on it, but yesterday morning I noticed a mild valve tick at startup.

As soon as the engine warmed and the cold coolant light went off the tick went away, this took maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Outside temperature was about 70 degrees, F.

As a note, I drive very conservatively...I think the car's only seen 4000 rpm once.

Anyone else have this happen so early on? I'm hoping it's just a break in thing, I'll probably let it ride until my first oil change then see what Honda has to say. Thanks for your suggestions.

Maybe it could be in the manifold, but it I'm pretty sure it's valve train noise. I've had a few old crappy cars with valve noise.

My car does it too. Completely normal I'm sure. Don't panic.

In my experience with Honda's, they all do this until up to temp. This little engine is more pronounced than some other Honda engines. It sounds like a sewing machine. This is nothing to be concerned about, it is normal.

If it gets worse (louder) or becomes a knocking, then you should take it in.

yeah don't worry about it. it just ticks here and there, sometimes even when already warm.
