Question '09 no seat height adjusters!? 5 speed less fuel efficient than Auto?! wtf

Temple of VTEC Rumors and News - TOV First Drive: 2009 Fit is Win!

No seat height adjusters at this price is a disappointment for me.

And why does the auto get 2 MPGs more than the manual on the highway?

i believe the new MT has shorter gears, where the AT transmission remains the same as the GD3's.
I know a lot of people would like to have shorter gears and move faster while only sacrificing 2 mpg on the highway.

on edit: by move faster i mean accelerate faster, not higher top speed.

It's a cheap car, so no seat height adjusters isn't a biggie.

I'm pretty sure that it's been proven, even in the '07-08 models, that the AT gets better highway mileage than the MT (sans hypermiling).
Either way:
"Whether you opt for the 5MT or 5AT transmission, the Fit is a lot of fun to drive. Either way you go, it's not going to set the world on fire with its acceleration numbers, but after driving around in a 5MT Fit for a couple of hours with a mix of city driving and 75-80mph freeway, the in-dash trip computer (which, to Honda's credit, is standard equipment in all 2009 Fits - hooray!) indicated an average fuel economy of nearly 39mpg(!). "

One reason the 5 speed could be less fuel efficient is the the RPMs in the 5th gear are more than the auto. When I'm going 75mph in my auto fit sport I am doing about 2700 rpms.

The competing Yaris and other cheap cars all have seat height adjusters. I'm not ruling out the '09 Fit just yet though. Can't wait to test drive it.

i agree with cojaro. the yaris needs features to get you to buy it, because its driving experience is next to nothing.

^ Those rotating seats are pretty cool. i wouldn't use it, but it's neat to have. my fiance's grandparents and great grandma would appreciate that on the passenger's side.

Or politics.

autos = $$$ money = better for US economy

every year, people say autos get better mileage than MT, but the actual numbers always prove it wrong.
