Honda Mechanic Engine Confirmation

Got confirmation from a Honda mechanic today that the US Fit will be a 1.2 and 1.4. So I guess it'll be just like the European:

Honda is going to try to sell a 76hp car in America? All I have to say is BALLS. Good luck to them.

They must figure the 1.5L vtec Jazz would have to be sold for too much for the ultra tight budgets in the US market. Its all well and good wanting all the fruit but the market has to be prepared to pay for it.

Small cars only accounted for less than 20% of total new car sales in the US last month despite petrol prices. US definition of small cars includes what the rest of the world considers medium or even medium-large sized as well.

Question

College Hills Honda says different - they say the EX will be the 1.5 VTEC heavily loaded up with the biggest price tag for a car in its segment in the U.S.....

A mechanic at a dealer is not in the know. I expect the Fit to be a 1.5L and at least 100HP.

I actually think Honda may end up with two engines on the Fit, a 1.5-liter L15A i-DSI head engine rated at around 95 bhp (SAE 08/04 net) and the 1.5-liter version of the new SOHC i-VTEC engine from the 2006 Civic Hybrid rated at around 110-115 bhp (SAE 08/04 net).
