VTEC and Vti-s

What is the difference between VTEC and Vti-s?

How many different types of 1.5 engine are available for Fit and Jazz around the world?

VTI-S is the 1.5L VTEC sports model Jazz sold in Australia which includes the factory body kit.

There are just 2 1.5L engines worldwide used in the Jazz - one is i-dsi and the other sohc VTEC.

IDSI is an 8 valve, dual spark plug engine designed for maximum fuel economy, low end torque but poor high end power. Vtec is 16 valve, single spark, lots of top end, not as much low rpm grunt.
Cut away pics of 2 engines.

Comparison test between 2 engines.

Below 4500rpm where we do 90% of driving the IDSI is more powerful with lower fuel consumption than the VTEC.

Its a shame they haven't been able to combine dsi and vtec yet in the one engine.

When you have vtec Jazz you will want to spend far more than 10% of your time above 4,500rpm because it sounds so sweet and feels so good.

T-shirts are available for the fuel consumption obsessed spammers.
