What's the best way to remove a vinyl decal?

Hey all. I have a decal on my car that's been baked on for a year and I want to take it off. What is the best way to remove it? I read one thing I found on google that said white vinegar works, or heating it up with a blow-dryer and then just peeling it off.... What is the best technique, anyone know?

Doug

Peel off the decal with your fingers. Then remove the adhesive with an adhesive remover like goo gone.

is it on the glass? if so just use a single edged razor blade, and you won't have any residue
if it's on the paint, the best method is seriously your fingernail when it's around 70 degrees and you'll have very little residue, and the best product for that is 3M adhesive remover

i use a IR heater to warm it up (but not too warm cause it will stretch),
and pull up and away with the adhesive side facing down while slightly
stretching the vinyl. any remains i just use WD40 and plastic razor blade.

polish/wax as needed afterwards.

I used my fingernail, Meguiers detail spray and a microfiber towel. It was a hot day so I didn't need a heat gun.

cool, thanks guys. the decal is on glass, so hopefully it's not too much trouble to remove. it's been kind of cold lately, so i'll just wait for the next warm day to do it.

if its on glass its EASY! you can take a credit card and use the edge to push it off... then clean up with some goo gone and windex.... just dont use metal... that will scratch...
