Will the fit be manufactured in japan if i bought the car in sept of 06?

I would not be so quick to assume that. The dealer I talked to said they are only doing the first few months in Japan and then they will come to the North American factories. It finacially makes sense for them to produce them here.

 

Honda US PR said the switch to Stateside production MIGHT occur depending on sales and when the next gereation comes out - NOT the current car...

 

Agreed, Honda would not spend money to tool a factory for a car that will stop being produced in a year or two. It would make much more sense to start with the next generation Fit.

 

I'm not seeing the Fit being made in the US ever honestly... The entire setup for these cars is still in Japan and Honda of America has there hands full as it is with what they are making. I mean in Canada they can't even handle the demand for the Si yet

 

I guess this means the new Si will do much better then the 2002-2005 Si's (2002 - 2004 SiR's in Canada). Then again, I don't expect Honda to be mass producing the Si's.

If the Fit is a success and goes to the next gen in North America, I'm sure they will make them in the US or Canada.

 

I really do not see them making them in NA... I mean why configure plants to make a body style that is already being taking care of in Japan...
