Can you tell the build date from the VIN? Or is that info only privy to the dealer?

 

You should be able to tell which month it was built from the info tag in the door jamb.

 

There is a sticker in the jamb fron transport Canada, it reads 02 '06, so Frebuary this year. But that sticker is from Transport Canada, not Honda. My two other Hondas have a plates on the frame with the build month and year.

 

Just do a Google search for "vin code+Honda".

Mine is #892 off the line.

 

#961 here. My mechanic friend told me to cover the VIN with something so no one could read the # and get a key. My salesman said "I have to know you eye-to-eye", but maybe some small town dealer might cut a key with a sob story. $80.
