Can someone that has a fit with navigation give me some guidance please?

Hello hope everyones having a nice weekend.

Yesterday I bought my white 2009 honda fit with navigation -happy with it so far. It's only been one day so Im going to get to really see what she's got once I take her on a roadtrip up to washington.

This question is mainly about the navigation's voice. The woman at the dealership who concluded the deal said I could either change the voice to a male or female voice. The woman was in a rush, which I understood, and told me that if I needed to know anything to look it up in the manual.

I want to see what the male voice sounds like because I'm finding the female's voice rather pushy...have been looking through the manual, playing with the buttons, and cant find out how to change it.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

First, congratulations on the new Fit. I'm really happy we bought the Navi. The more I read the manual the more I appreciate its functionality and integration.

That said, I don't believe you can change the voice from female to male.

I don't know whether you've registered on the honda website but you can download the owner's manual and navi manual from there. It's easier to search the manual text from the pdf file.

I'm not going to comment on the "pushy" female voice. You're probably single.

Cheers

I don't believe you can change the voice to male. Your salesperson must have sold Toyotas in the past, as I know that you can do that on Toyota navi systems (probably lots of other ones too).

Congrats on the new car, can't say enough good about mine.

No luck on the voice change though, you're going to have to learn to live with her...

Have fun!

I was reading through another forum someone posted about the information for a 2009 honda fit...

2009 Honda Fit Sport - Honda Car Forum - Accord Parts Civic Tuning Acura Racing

Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™

The new Fit Sport is available with the latest Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with a 6.5-inch touch screen display. The voice recognition system is capable of recognizing and inputting numbers, street names and cities, in addition to more than 600 standard commands. Turn-by-turn voice guidance is user selectable in either male or female voice and can be turned off at any time. Destination memory recalls current trip addresses and previous destinations. A calendar and calculator with imperial-to-metric converter is standard. The navigation system can be controlled by the driver through the voice recognition system, the touch screen display, or the joystick on the instrument panel."

The salesperson didnt sell toyotas. She was in the honda dealership.

Oh well, I guess Ill keep trying until I either figure it out or give up, thanks anyway.
