Splendid Gas Mileage
On my recent trip from D.C. to Meredith NH I gassed up at exit 10 on the NJ Tpke, drove through Brooklyn to Port Jefferson, L.I. where I took the ferry to Bridgeport and then on up to NH. After 370 miles driving, with more than half that distance with the cruise control set at 72 MPH, I finally stopped and filled up a total of 9.73 gallons. That calculates to 38 MPG. On the trip back to D.C., reversing the same route, and going through a horrendous rain storm with attendant slow down on L.I., managed to get 37.5 MPG driving at the same 70+ mph on the interstates and Tpke. 2007 Honda Fit Sport (with auto tranny) is officially broken in at 13000 miles.

Hmmm I have an '08 Fit and drove to Mass from VA and was traveling 55-60mph and at half the tank I was at 210-230 mark and forgot the miles I filled up. What is interesting is when going back I filled up and reset the the odo then traveled home with the speed of 70-75mph and when I read half the tank I was at 250 miles. It was kind of odd that I travelled faster but got better mileage. Also I was travelling both ways with 2 people with me and a lot of cargo.
