Outrageous Fit prices

Here's a picture so that you'd believe me:

Yup, $20,305 (before sales tax and registration).

Until I can find a sane Hawaiian dealer, no Fit for me. Hell, at that price I can fly to the West Coast, have a nice holiday, buy a Fit, ship it to myself ($900) and still be ahead.

Do I win? Or does somebody have a worse example?

What the heck is a color package? Did they stick the little colored body trim add-ons in the interior or something? Pinstripe?

You're not comparing the right cars.. TL vs Civic SI.

Funny, how it says on the sticker "Rollover Resistance - To be Tested".

I'm thinking it applies in more ways than one, at THAT price!

LOL

$3k "additional dealer markup".

Who doesn't just run the other way when they see something like that? Some people must really just have a complete lack of self preservation.

when i was getting my FIT in van nuys california, the sticker also says 2995 dealer market adjustment bullshit. but the woman who was selling it to me didnt even mention that "adjusted price" she told me a couple over sticker for a manual sport. im sure if she said we are asking 3000 over sticker she would have expected me to walk right out of the car and back to my old element and drive on away! she also told me that Hondas intention is to sell them for sticker , so why are they making them up is what i wants to know!! any way

Here on the West Coast of Canada, the Fit is going for the MSRP. You can dicker for a few bucks worth of goodies, but there aren't many cars available. Another dealer told me to buy locally and save gas, as nobody is dealing. I hate to pay full price, and had to settle for mats, mudflaps and a free service. But I did have the choice to wait, but I wonder if they will be able to keep up with demand, anyway ?

frossie- Believe it or not, I got the best pricing at BIH.... msrp for a fit base. When I got that quote, I went to my local dealer on Kauai and gave them one last chance to match that offer or I would take my business to BIH. They matched it and I'm now waiting to take delivery on the next FIT base 5 speed scheduled to be delivered to Kauai.

PM me if if you would like a great salesperson at BIH to work with. Details was that I was to place the order with them plus deposit and wait till July sometime for delivery. Still, it was the best FIT deal I could get in Hawaii. The dealers on Oahu are nuts and will not budge on their outrageous markups!!!

Keep trying... it can be done.
