Tragedy has struck!

I went to get in my car this morning and noticed a tiny nick in the door. I think it happened when I got gas. The door swung open before I could catch it. I have some stuff at home that is supposed to buff out nicks and scratches. I think it will work; the nick is not that bad. I just hated to see my baby damaged so fast.

Took my car up into the cariboo here in BC and managed to locate a few rocks on the 5 hour highway run. Battle scars. May need to purchase a hood cover.

When I used to drive dumbmestics with GM's forever opening doors that weighed 2 tonnes; converting to Japanese I had to relearn and gain some finesse.

I did find out on my 400 mile jaunt today (38.9 US MPG BTW) that a Fit windshield is in fact, Starling resistant at 65 MPH. In all my years of driving, I have never had a bird hit the windshield!

Makes you duck and close your eyes tho....loud thud too!

Rock hit my windshield. Got a crack the size of a nickel. Worst rock chip I've ever had.

Oh man, now I feel really bad about complaining about a tiny nick. I'm so sorry about your car. Hope you can get it fixed ASAP.

I found scratches right under my door on the side flair molding. I think it was from the vaccum I use to vaccum the car out. It is minor and will hopefully buff out. How does one do that? The buffing out of a scratch I mean.

Question

I just called Benvento and they don't have a hoodguard in the works yet
Anyone know if the Australian Market one that College Hills shows online will actually fit the NA Fit?

http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hon...port_parts.htm

I've had one like this on a Toyota and it scratched the paint underneath if it got even a little dirty

http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ins...llnosemask.pdf

and I don't care if God himself told me the 3M sheet product worked - it's just too tacky like plastic covers on a sofa

I went by my dealer on the way home. They haven't gotten any touch-up paint for the Fits yet. As a matter of fact, the guy I talked to said they hadn't even got touch-up paint for some of the '06 models yet. He suggested since the knick is really tiny, I should put some clear nail polish on it to help seal it until I can get some paint. I rushed right over to the drug store and got some. I think it will work fine for now.

I saw something on an automobile television programme on Chicago's public TV channel, saying to do this, especially to seal before winter and rust was a problem. If it works there, should work for you in VA.
