I am considering removing the headrests from the back seats for better visibility.
Same here. I'm 4'8", but I've never owned a car with height adjusters...I guess I've learned to adapt. For an entry level car, I don't expect them to have something like that. I'm actually surprised that the Fit comes with all the things it has (power, seats, space, AC, etc). I'm thinking of buying a cushion though.

Actually people in Japan are MUCH taller than 20 years ago. I'm anglo american and am 5 ft 10 in. My wifes brothers (Japanese) are both taller than me (6 ft 2, 6 ft 1).

I liked most everything about the FIT, but...... when my wife, who is 5'1" tall, got behind the wheel she said, "I can't raise the seat height, and I can't see the front of the car." I'm 5'11" and I had to agree with her; the seat adjustment was poor and we crossed the FIT off our list of possible new cars.

My wife is 5 feet tall, and she can see just fine. I am 5'11" and I cannot see the front hood of the car either. It's part of how the car is shaped. You'd have to be over 6'5" to be able to see the front hood of the car.

My wife crossed the Civic off of the list because even with the height adjustment she had less of a view over the dash and IP of the car than the Fit, and was closer to the steering wheel than when sitting in the Fit.

You are not really supposed to be able to see the front of the car, it is designed that way. Doesn't matter if you're 4"10 or 6".

As for the armrest I definitely agree there but it wasn't a dealbreaker. A passenger side mirror would have been nice too. Couldn't have added but $5 to the MSRP!

A note to those who complain about blind spots in a particular car:

Properly adjust your side mirrors!!

You should NOT be able to see your car in your side mirrors. You should NOT be looking directly down the side of your car. The easy way to adjust them is, lean to your left as far as you can, then adjust the left mirror so you CAN see down the side of the car. Do the same for the right (lean right and adjust), then when you're sitting straight, you should have NO, or very small blind spots.

MOST people do not adjust their side mirrors correctly. Don't be 'most people'.

Sort of get the feeling looking back over your postings that you where no more likely to buy a Fit than I am to buy a VW. Looked at VWs but just can't see ever owning one on purpose.

Guess that's fine and don't really mind informed contributions or just yacking. But I'm wondering if you ever considered working for Volks Wagon or maybe starting a VW vs Fit thread to post in.

Perhaps I'm edging the Nettiquet rules too

Just picked up my fit on the 26th(june)...been driving it everyday.
im used to the gangster lean seats from the 5 mustangs i'ved own and have gotten used to it. Im only 5"4 same with my wife and we both have no problems with the fit not having seat height adjustments.....i guess its all about knowing the dimensions of your car.
Fit reminds me of my old 90 suzuki swift gt(fun little car)....but i miss the old
5litre v8.
