Undercarriage Cleaning

I am planning on washing my Fit today, since the sun just now decided to come out after a straight dozen days of rain here.
I was wondering when the first cleaning of the undercarriage should be done. Does it harm the car if it is cleaned too soon? How often should the undercarriage be cleaned?

you should clean any dirt accumulated in the wheel well areas and bumpers, whenever you wash the car, other wise when you get around to it, there's a nasty mess. Don't worry about the belly, the part that runs next to the road unless there is salt in your area, in that case wash it off when ever you get some on.

You should wash the car often and keep it clean, that helps it. don't use anything harsh though. And dry it nice too.

Has anyone had their car 'undercoated?' Did you do it your self or buy from a shop? TIA

Quick Wash

I really wish I could do a quick wash, unfortunately I can't. A few days ago I was driving in the pouring rain, and drove beside a construction zone in the middle lane, and a SUV in the right lane hit a pothole and about a gallon or more of grease from the construction splashed all over my right side of the car. Now I'm doomed with harsh, tough grease to remove. I think I'm going to have to run it through an automated car wash. So I think I might as well get the undercarriage automatically cleaned too.

I guess I might as well add the undercoat in the wash too.
