What would this do to Fit sales?

The return of the Honda Beat... rather, the "FF Beat!"

Aside from the Fit, what would this do to some of the Civic Si business?

2012 Honda Beat

I know... 2012 is a long ways away in the auto world. I think the Fit will continue to evolve. Yet, I'm sure this would steal a lot of enthusiasts who have either purchased, or are thinking of possibly purchasing a Fit or an Si in the future.

Some may say, "An enthusiast purchasing a Fit?" Well, there's plenty of you on this forum, right?

As for the link? Cool looking ride. At this point in my life I'm not extremely attracted to 2 seaters. Still, looks nice.

I think it does look nice. 2 seater for me would mean it would have to be a 3rd car, which makes it somewhat impractical and not competition (for me at least) to my Fit. I think it will affect the CR-Z sales more than the Fit though. I can't imaging buying a CR-Z if I saw the Beat sitting next to it for a similar price.

I wish they would keep it small and mid engine though. That makes it sound more fun to me...

I don't see a mini-two seater sporty car being any kind of competition for a mini-station wagon/SUV. I drive a Miata and my wife drives a Fit. Two worlds apart.

Bingo. Lets hope that if the Beat were to somehow make it to NA that it doesn't come with IMA.

It's pretty cool looking but I can't see how I can carry a couple of electric guitars and guitar amps, or a big screen TV, or whatever in it.

If I want a wildly impractical "convertible" with no space to carry anything, well, that's why I have the Harley.

That looks nice but i don't know if that still will look cool in person. That is also in a different class and I don't think that will affect the Fit sales.

You can't expect to sell a car with anything less than 3 cylinders in North America, not after the Metro. I'm sure it would be quick and all kinds of fun to drive, but I love what I can do with my car and what I can haul around.
