Recall

There has been a recall for the Fit in Japan on 3/3/06. Does anyone know if this will affect us, and when?

For those who can read Japanese,
http://www.honda.co.jp/recall/060302_1628.html

For those who can't, it seems like the Rear Acel Beam isn't mounted properly, and it might break the break pipe and break hose. I don't even know what these parts are so I'm probably not saying it properly...
From the looks of it, only the 4WD ones are affected, which we don't have anyway so I'm thinking ours is safe.

The Honda Japan Recall information is cool! It even has a detailed diagram of what's affected!

Would that be rear axle beam? If so, since the AWD would use different rear end setups, it wouldn't apply to US an CAN models

I would've liked to have an AWD option, among other things.

Woah, I thought I was going to have to cancel my road trip this weekend. Going to The Gorge in Washington to the Sasquatch Festival. Luckily NA only gets 2WD cars. phew!

I would have to assume for many reasons this does not affect us. For one the Fits in the US werent released until April. Well after the 3/3/06 date of the recall. Second, Honda would not let us deliver them to customers until the wind noise issue was fixed in the windshield. This recall seems to be a safety issue and a non issue to us here in the US.

Recall info is good no matter if it deals with our models of theirs...
