There is no schedule, but there is certainly a chart in the manual showing what the maintenance minder codes mean, which really isn't any different from the pre-maintenance minder chart which recommended various PM services at various fixed intervals. The only difference is that the interval is not fixed at 5000 or 10000 miles.

An unscrupulous mechanic can screw you with or without the maintenance minder by trying to sell you things you don't need (or in the case of a 4-wheel alignment perhaps cannot even get). Either way if you don't RTFM to find out what you need/want and just walk into a dealer and say "fix it" you might get screwed.

You still have to A) know what you're supposed to be getting and B) go to a mechanic you trust.

 

My local stealership charges $70 for an alignment and $43 for the cabin filter. I had to laugh when the service manager (who should know better) came in to the waiting room and asked if I wanted the cabin filter changed for $43. I told him "Ernie (the parts guy) will sell me that filter for $12 and it takes two minutes to change. What do you think I want?"
