For the longest time I thought some people on the forum were calling their Fits "Mr. Fit." Now I get it... Milano Red Fit - MR Fit...

My Fit's name is "Maxwell" but we call him Max for short.

Why a guy? I dunno ... I feel like I know a car is male or female the moment I sit inside.

Donnival,
I have a policy that all of my cars are inherently female. Here is my rationale: 1) I have about 9 bottles of stuff that go with the car. 2) I feel it is against the laws of nature to derive such please from a relationship with another man. 3) She moves me.

That being said, Her name is Yoshimi. It's a Flaming Lips reference. I felt that, because it's a Japanese car, it shouldn't have a western name. On the other hand, my VW was named Claudia (good German name). The Ford Probe GT before that was Daria.

Her name is Yoshimi
she's a black belt in karate
working for the city
she has to discipline her body
'Cause she knows that
it's demanding
to defeat those evil machines
I know she can beat them
-The Flaming Lips, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

My 30-day old White Sport Auto is Sugaree, with a nod to Jerry & Co. My vanity tag with her name on it should arrive within 60 days - woohoo!

Just a few names...
1988 Hyundai Excel with a 4g6t - Excelerator!
1996 Ford Ranger - 2.3L turbo motor - GoGo! = Go! Go! Power Ranger!
1984 SVO = 3BroSVO = all my brother have owned this car now.
1989 Mustang = Black Car, Monster, Mistress (because I pay alot of money and she never puts out... )
2001 Accent = Silver Bullet = oxymoron here, she is the SLOWEST car I have ever owned..
2005 Focus = Sleeper (Full coil over suspension, big brakes, LSD, turbo kit, no body changes and race tires on hubcap rims! )= Supa-FREAK!
1972 LTD sedan - ex FBI persuit vehicle- 460 Crate motor (550hp), custom brakes, custom suspension, small turbo kit.... painted black! = MIB!

2007 - Fit Sport, Vivid Blue - (*wife's car!*) = Sapphire.... for obvious reasons.

Soon, I'll get my own car, I'm hoping for either a white or silver car. It just depends on what is available.
good luck

And my mom says to name it after "that little robot from Star Wars."

So we may be going with R2-D2. I was wondering if anyone else picked Star Wars names.
But I was also thinking of the Storm Troopers, because they are white. Most white SUVs from the back remind me of the Storm Troopers. Artoo is shorter, and is more of a name, though.

Yay for cars named after Star Wars!
I work for Disney and during star wars weekends I added temporary vinyls to enhance R2D2. My computer crashed recently and I lost the pictures but I plan on doing it next year as well.

We nicknamed our '07 Vivid Blue Pearl FiT Blue Lazer
One friend at work calls him The Blue Hornet.

Our '06 Taffy White Civic is called White Lite, altho after I detailed him with Mothers brand Polishes and Waxes he likes Brite White.

We gave our '94 Civic to some friends what Daughter is learning to drive, he still goes by Baby Blue.

The '95 Dodge Ram 2500 Extended Cab 8 foot bed V-10 was called
The Beast. He loved to gallop on the freeways but his drinking became a problem. (7miles per gallon) I still recall his sad eyes as he watched me drive off the dealers lot in Lazer, but I'm told now he works hard for people that love him and take care of him and utilize his 35000 lb towing capacity.

I do not remember any more of my previous vehicles pet names, I recall their faces and some of the adventures we had, but I reckon that would be a different thread.

Talking

We called ours 'Foxy' for a number of reasons;

a) 'Foxy Lady... I'm comin' to get ya!' the infamous Hendrix song
b) 'Foxy Fit' sounds good
c) Foxes are generally a red/brown color much like our 5AT BOM :-)

My Fit was named by my wife. It needed a powerful name, because of the battle it does everyday with giant SUVs. She named it THOR.

Zippy the Fit

This is the first car the GF or I have owned in like, uh, 10 years. Both of us have been truck and can owners.

Given the acceleration (above 4500 RPM) and awesome handling, "Zippy the Fit" has stuck to this one.

Heh...here I thought I was the only one!

My Tercel's name is "Alphonse", the Suburban is "Sookha", and the pickup is "Blackie".

I don't have my Fit yet so I don't know his personality, but lovely wyfe has suggested "Pumpkin" in honor of his coppery-orange color. We'll see....

Just got my new Fit yesterday, but I haven't driven it enough yet to know its personality.

Gotta admit though, "Pumpkin" isn't too bad. My mother suggested "Orange Julius" but I'm pretty sure lovely wyfe would contract that to "Julie", which I think I wouldn't like....

Been a while since I figured out a car's name...this is fun!
