my horrible experience with xenithxenons.com
Didn't know where to put this so I threw it right here. If this is the wrong spot, moderators, please move. Thanks.
So about two months ago I was looking to buy some HIDs. I came on this site to see if there were any good companies to buy from. I saw that xenithxenons.com seemed to be a pretty good company according to a ton of threads and posts.
Well my experience with them has been an absolute nightmare.
April 7th - Original order placed for HID kit. Full amount was taken out of my checking account.
April 17th - Was told they would be shipped out the 19th...said they weren't in stock. Never notified before then that they weren't in stock.
April 26th - Was told they were "stuck at customs".
May 1st - Was told they now had no ETA for the kit.
May 5th - FINALLY received HID kit. I ordered 6000k...I received 8000k.
May 8th - Installed kit. One ballast did not work. Emailed same day. Took several days before I got any kind of a response. When I call, nobody answers. When I email, it takes several days and sometimes a week before I get a response.
Continued emailing them asking for a new ballast. Since the order was over a month old, I felt that a ballast should be sent out immediately and I shouldn't have to wait for my ballast to arrive at their door.
May 24th - After another week or so of not hearing anything or getting any responses, they emailed me saying they needed a picture of the bad ballast with the wires cut off. I agreed and sent them the picture.
June 1st - STILL no response from the company. This order is coming up on 2 months and I still don't have a working set of HIDs.
I will never use this company again and I urge you to do the same. Their website claims you can phone them from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM PST 7 days a week. Yet nobody answers. It also states to simply leave a message if nobody answers and they will call you back the very next day.
I have NEVER received a call back from them. Not one. I have left my name and number and never heard a peep.
All I want is a working set of HIDs with the money that has already been taken out of my account. This company refuses to fulfill their obligation, however, and it is inexcusable.

That's not the issue. This thread isn't meant to debate PNP HID's vs Halogens.
i apologize for swaying the thread off track with the very first response; however, my reply is directly related to the subject. if you avoid purchasing garbage like PNP HID kits then you also avoid shitty customer service from companies like xenith xennons who knowingly sell a terrible product.
anyway, i hope your issue is resolved. i don't support the purchase or use of PNP HIDs but i also don't wish this kind of thing to happen to those that do.

10-15 more e-mails back and forth, and a replacement ballast was sent out on June 26th, just to find that the second original one went bad in under 5 mins.
I've called several more times, with no response. I only get to receive an e-mail fixing nothing and treating me like garbage every day or so.
They refuse to refund me any money or fix the situation. This company has the worst customer serivce I have ever dealt with.

i had same issues, had to change two bulbs and two ballasts which took for ever to get withina year of installing the kit, i got so tired of removing my bumber to change the ballasts, and so tired of calling and emailing, i threw everything in the garbage and went back to stock, then told everybody i knew and posted on here and some other forums. seems like a one man show at the company, and i dont think he really cares, i am surprised he is still in business.

let me start by saying I'M SORRY YOUR HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME GETTING ANYWHERE WITH PEOPLE LIKE THESE, and i hope all is fixed for you soon!!
that said this is the reason i buy local even if it is a little more expensive, first - "is it really" second - support! the local shop i deal with has delt with stupid people that dont back their product, and has weeded them out as someone they will never deal with, therefor i dont mind paying more for "in the long run" a better product = on my CRX i put HID's on it may of 04 and have only had one inline fuse (20a) blow since - thats 6 years. and on my 07 fit i put HID's on it dec of 06 and am still using them on my 2010 fit today i will admit that i replaced a fuse on this set also. so the moral to my story is buy local and "IF" you have a problem, hopefully the shop is as good as the one i deal with and will stand behind the product

Looking @ this thread makes me think I should pay the extra $ and have a pro install HID if I ever decide upon it. Putting a Silver Star bulb in my motorcycle by myself was somewhat of a bitch but easy enough. It's not a night and day difference though over the stock halogen bulb.

You mention they took the money from your checking account. Did you use a Debit card? I would suggest only using credit cards for online orders. (Some even let you create temporary card numbers for security.) If you did, in fact, use a credit card, you should call them immediately with all the details and request a chargeback against the company. You can state your case clearly and if they agree that you've been wronged they will pull the money from the vendor's account. They will generally do this for small amounts without fuss, but with higher dollar amounts they take it seriously.
If you didn't use a credit card, maybe your bank will be willing to help. Debit cards do not generally have the support of the bank like a credit card.
I hope you can find some way to get your money returned!

Absolutely. Just because you paid your account balance doesn't mean they can't do a chargeback. If it went through, it would just put your account into a negative balance, which is not a problem.
