Question First Fit Peeve

Anyone else notice that the unusual slant of the insturment guage covers allows them to get dusty really fast?
I think this is the first vehicle I've ever owned that didn't have either a top edge out / lower edge in or just plain straight up and down insturment cover in the dash?
I'm thinking about rain X or some eye glasses anti - dust / anti static treatment to keep the view clean for longer....

I keep a microfiber mitt in all my cars. Bought them from Costco. They work great in picking up all the fine dust and dirt from the dash and gauge cluster.

I wouldn't try Rain-X. My nicknames for that crap are Wiper-X and Windshield-X.

I used to use it religiously on one of my cars, until someone mentioned that it pits windshields over time. They were right! That windshield was awful after a couple years.

It also toasts wipers in about half the time.

As well as it works, it is almost worth it, but I would never try it on the gauges.

And you are right...it is insane how fast they get dusty!

I have some Plexus...I am going to try that. It always worked great on motorcycle helmet faceshields.

Yep - picked it up last week - nearing 500miles on the ODO - reminds me more and more of my old 1975 Civic CVCC - 'cept it goes around corners MUCH faster
Thanks for asking Claymore

rjm161 - I wasn't talking about Rain X on the exterior windows - on the dash guage cover plastic! Right now I've got some anti-static eye glasses spray on it and it really seems to help with dust!
