Jerky car?

Yesterday i noticed that my engine light came on. As I merged onto the freeway, my car started jerking at about 45 mph.. when I got on i hit traffic.. so goign 25-30 mph was okay.. it jerked once or twice when i gassed. When traffic cleared up a little and i was up to 45-50.. it jerked a little more.. the feeling when i step on the gas is that it vibrates and rattle a little while the car jerks.. liek not enough gas going through..
anyone experience something similar?? Or know what it may be?

Possible miss-fire??? No way to know without codes. Take it some where for diagnosis - preferably a qualified repair shop that knows vtech engines. Miss-fires no good for cat-converters, so don't dilly.

Theres a lot of threads on this floating around right now. It seems to be a common issue, take it to a dealership, the more documentation Honda has the better, hopefully they'll issue a recall or service bulletin to help everyone out.

I'm in the same boat. I'm only at 31k, so hopefully someone pins down a solution before i get up there in miles.

What might help others is to know the year/model and mileage of your ride. Any progress on your end???

06 Fit.. i found out that when gassing, if it goes above 3500 rmp, it shakes and the mph does not go up.. it has a hard time changing ger to drop the rpm back.. so i'd imagine trying to merge on a freeway is very dangerous.. I put it in neutral and when i gave it gas.. same thing happen in neutral.. Honda wants $200 to diagnos. I'm thinking about just replacing the coil and take my chance?

WOW - $200 to pull codes, that's outrageous. Either that or spend the money on a Scanguage. Really not a good idea the start throwing parts at it without knowing which parts to throw... things get really confusing fast.

Curious thing - on my 1996 Cadillac Sedan Deville I can pull codes right off the dash by pushing the AC "on" and "warmer" buttons at the same time. Can cycle through all sub-systems and codes and clear codes as well. I can tell I'm gonna miss that.

The dealership said he reset the system and that has resolve the P2647 code. However, my cruise and sport feature is still out. He said maybe a drive reel problem? have to bring it in again.

Anyone know what it would cost to fix a drive reel problem or something along that line?
They said there's no signal to my sport feature and cruise control.

No signal could mean a blown fuse - no idea on a drive reel - the reset cleared up the problem?? How's the oil levels?

Certainly post progress - keep this the "official" thread, lot easier and less confusing to my tired brain....

it's not a blown fuse for sure because i checked all the fuses.
well they told me it'll be 220 to diagnos and at least 300 to fix if it's a simple fix.. i will hold off.. maybe someone else who have the same issue can share their experience later in time.. Hopefully it's some sort of connection issue..

Are Honda diagnostic codes consistant across models? If so: Here's a list of OBD2 codes

This is the simple conclusion I came up with. "Lesson Learned" probably the best you might do w/out getting into it further.

Dealer knows the switch most likely needs replacing, hence the repair estimate. Diagnosing is tacked on, however, it involves more than simply running codes. Tech must be able to pinpoint the problem and it can be more than one issue.

EDIT: Search threads for P2647 been discussed Look here as well: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/1st-...tml#post876556

P2646 and P2647 are both related to the Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch Circuit
P2648 and P2649 are both related to the Rocker Arm Oil Control Solenoid Circuit.

It seems these codes show up as intermittent problem at times and can be related to oil pressure/levels.

Lesson here seems to reinforce to need to run at correct oil levels - be sure to post back any future issues.

From the dealership days, they're pretty universal. That is unless you've got something european.

The problem i have with the cruise control and sport feature has nothign to dow ith the check engine light and code P2647, or so they say.
He said something about the drive reel for the cruise control and indicated that the other problem may be because of the same reason.
