Anyone know how long it usually takes for the Fit (or any cars made in Japan) to arrive on dealer lots after it's been built? Mine was built on the 11th of May, but when i called to check on the status, the salesman said it's on QC right now and should be here within 2 weeks. Does that sound right?

When the cars show up with a build date and are actually built, they are then preassigned a shipping date and then shipped. When they arrive at the final truck transport they can sit there for a while (few days or a week or so). When the transport truck company have enough to haul to the dealer, they will drop them off to us. I am in Missouri and when our cars are shipped from Japan, it usually takes about 30-35 days for us to have it on the lot

 

I don't know how accurate this is, but I was told it is 30-45 days from the production line to the showroom.

 

30 days from what the dealer told me. Remember they have to ship it buy boat.

The 30 - 45 days sounds right. My car was built on 3/16 (according to the build sheet) and I got it on 4/30. Not sure how long it had been on the dealer lot though...

 

The Fit I ordered was built on 17 April. It arrived at the dealer in Colorado on 19 May (a tad over 1 month) after a boat trip from Japan to San Diego, a train trip from San Diego to Texas and then to Colorado via truck. Your results may vary.

It is already more than a month since giving my deposit 2/23, build day is now scheduled for 4/11/12, originally dealer quoted 4-6 wks, but didn't mention order wouldn't go in until they have enough cars for their order. I am trying to figure out when it will arrive at dealer to get prepped for transfer to me.

 

Super Zombie post....Usually a dealer is able to find a Fit from another dealer. The Fit isn't in high demand like it use to be and there are only 4 or 5 variations besides color.

 

White is in short supply here in FL, at order time there was only 5 in the state and I didn't want to pay their instate transport fees and the extras installed at those dealers.

 

Mine was a factory order and took about 7 weeks from deposit to delivery....

I was told 4-6 weeks from date of order...next week is going to be TWO months, but then, I only want a MANUAL Sport in Vortex Blue!!!
it was the same thing when I ordered my GD, ordered end of January, picked up: 12 March 2007. I gues I should be used to it by now, Oh, well!! .....

I'm just a 4.5 hour drive from the factory and it took 59 days from the day I ordered it. So be happy if it takes only 6-8 weeks.

 

I'm a few hours from their Guangdong factory. The dealer received the car in less than a week, but I think it came from factory stock and wasn't build-to-order. (Based on the factory documents.) Now waiting for temporary license plates, which seems to take another week here..

 

most of the fits are being made in china. just a heads up. because of the troubles in japan.

 

Not for the US. Ours say Made in japan.
