Base on Owner's Manual.

NOTE:
To see if the system is set after you exit the vehicle, press the LOCK button on the remote transmitter within 5 seconds. If the system is set, the horn will beep once.

If the horn does not beep, the alarm system does not fully arm.

Once. I see the lights flash and usually hear the locks as im close to the car when i press the lock key.

Why wear out the key's button and run down the battery if once is enough?

I hit the black button on the door itself and the car locks, sometimes will use the fob, but really no need to with the black button right on the door. I can actually hear the doors lock and the red LED in the instrument cluster begins blinking, so I get both an audible and visual locking of the car.

depends on what time of day- I can't see the lights in bright sun, but at night I can see the lights bouncing off the house.

is it possible to replace the lock horn with a digital beep?

I always walk away and then press the lock button twice until I hear the "beep" and sometimes I do it twice just to make sure its lock.

I usually do the double-tap and wait for the beep, unless it's late at night somewhere that people are sleeping.

I started having the problem that I would double-tap, but no beep, so I figured there was a door open...hit the unlock, double-tap, then would get the beep.

After having this happen a couple times, I sat in the car and ran through the lock combinations on the remote, and every so often, I would hear a strange sound from the door. Turns out my lock actuator was whacked - had to take it in to the dealer for warranty replacement.

Never would have known the door wasn't locking if I wasn't used to listening for the beep.

double tap until beep lol... But my previous hondas locking the car up was something like Blue showed lol. Steering wheel lock, rim lock, steering column lock, kill switch for the fuel pump and if really in a bad neighborhood taking the ECU with me lol... But thats ny for you and owning a honda.

BTW supposedly theres some new device that makes it so people can pick up your programmed signal (the one that your fob send out to the vehicle) and makes it so they can replicate it to unlock your doors, leaving them free to do what they please inside your vehicle. I have been urged to lock my doors manually when I get out of my car, but I still click it til it meeps..

All you'd need is a demodulator to pick up the code being sent. Remember though, the receiver and the fob both have a set of rolling codes, and the moment a code is used, the car will not respond to it again. It will accept any of the next 128 or 256 codes, I can't remember (and it may vary from car to car) in case you press the button out of range. The only way I could see capturing the signal being useful at all is if you were to push the button out of range, have someone else copy it, and use it to enter your car before you.

Now, perhaps they have gotten a document from our good buddy Mr. Assange that gives them some type of formula for working out the next code (out of over a trillion combinations). But why bother with all that?

It's a lot of friggin effort compared to slim-jimming it or just breaking the goddamn window, and the chances that anyone driving one of our cheapie cars having anything THAT valuable inside at any particular time is rather slim.

My razor, you may use it.

im on the border between queens and brooklyn... So once i cross over to the brooklyn no honda is safe. Its almost like new jersey i have friends calling me all the time something happened to their car. Thats why i really like the fit youngsters dont really want to mess with it cause they cant use the parts. Only thing i see people really taking is the rims cause its 4x100..

I upgraded the main horn on my Fit because I didn't like the "meep". When I double tap for lock confirmation, I still get the "meep" does anybody know exactly where that horn is located?

etf - I'm thinking inside the front left wheel well.

T_M you're in the heart of it. What's the snow situation there? I'm trying to plan a visit in to Astoria.

I hit the lock button twice to get the meep. I guess I need visual and audible confirmation that everything is locked and the security system is armed.

Plus, I like the meep, even if it might be wimpy. Am I the only one that thinks it sounds like the Road Runner?
