FitS or Sedan?
FitS or Sedan?
Not the usual comparison here. I have a rare opportunity that I can luck into a new Milano Red Sport within 2 weeks. I originally ruled the Fit out because I haven't been able to see or drive one in person due to the lack of availability. Given that, I changed my plan towards the Civic sedan. Now, with this opportunity I'm indecisive again...and am looking for help. I'm not your "typical" hatch guy(I used to be
) I'm 38 , married and have a 2 year old boy. While I have no safety issues with the Fit, I am concerned that after a year or so of saving $$ on gas and having my fling, I'l be begging for a bigger, luxo car again. Any old people like me care to advise?

go with the civic sedan, the ride should be more compliant for those with a family. the ride is refined and value is high. get it with the navigation system, but it may be hard to come by.
im not saying i dont love the fit, but the fit is more of a daily commuter with a bit of a stiff suspension. it has sportier handling and sometimes over bigger nyc bumps, it is a bit jarring.

Call every single dealership in the area... there are more and more available now. The only way you'll really be able to decide is test driving both!
Even if it's a base model that you test drive, they ride nearly identical so you'll get a feel for the car. I agree that the Civic will be a bit more refined... but I personally found the Fit much larger feeling inside, especially with the big windows. If you occasionally need to haul stuff, it's hard to beat the fold-flat seats.
Good luck with your decision!! It'll be a hard one.
