Noisy Valvetrain

I just got my Fit a little over a week ago and already have 1600 miles on it. I have always had more expensive cars (usually six cylinders) and notice that this car makes a lot of chattery noise when accelerating and at idle when parked in between other cars. Is this normal for Honda engines or should I go back to my dealer to check it out. The car runs awesome otherwise and have recorded my mpg per tankful from 32-39. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, my car is noisy too. I've been wondering if it is normal. Sounds like valve train needs adjustment.

I had a noisy valvetrain on my 06 civic sedan, pretty much as you described. I took it to two different dealers because it bothered me so much. They said it was normal but I was still not happy. Even after an oil change i heard it.But after about 6000 or 7000 miles it quieted down and I dont notice anything at all. BTW I have a Fit sport and it seems pretty quiet.

Some people also mistake injector selinoid noise for valve sound....
