Maintenance Repair questions(Preventive) 07 Fit Hatchback
Finally my uncle gave me his promised gift. He gave me his 2007 Honda Fit Hatchback. Problem is… It seems to have a lot of problems lately. I only had it for 1 week and it would not start and is asking for a code- code that I don’t know how to get. My other problem is my air-condition seems to have an unstable temperature. It is not too cold and not too hot. It feels just cold (28 deg) even if it is on the coldest setting. I tried to research for this and I found out that it could be a problem on a lever within the engine bay(but no idea on what lever it is). It may have been stuck thus the air-condition cannot give out its full power. My uncle did inform me that he used to have problems with his air-condition before. It blows cold when running and gets warmer when he stops or when he is stuck at traffic. Sorry for this,if it is too long. I don’t want to create separate posts for each of my car issues.
Thank you.

Thank you.

I'd have the battery checked out. The code that it is asking for is the radio anti theft code. That usually pops up when the battery is disconnected, getting a VERY bad connection, or completely dead. That might also be the reason it is hard to start. The code can sometimes be found on a sticker pasted onto the inside of the glove box... or you can visit https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ .... or go to the dealer with documentation showing it belongs to you.
As far as the AC, I'd have a shop check it out. It might need a simple recharge.

From when I lived in central Florida - the A/C behavior sounds like what I experienced when new. This car is "smart" in how it manages the engine load, and at an idle will shut off the compressor at times to reduce loading. I found the cycling kind of annoying - not liking warm air blowing on me just because I hit the brakes for a light.
28 degrees is actually quite cold for this car! Honda designed it so the evaporator coil wouldn't ice up, and so the coil temps are normally about 33 degrees - and the computer cycles the A/C compressor to keep it there.
