Calibrating for MPG

Has anyone checked the UG trip miles against the FIT trip miles??

I just did a comparison and see that the UG says 328.3miles when the FIT says 332.2miles.

I'm running stock tires/wheels and did a distance check over a measured 8mile run and the FIT miles show it dead on.

Also, what are you guys seeing for the UG MPG Calculation factor? I'm at 1.13 and curious what other FIT engines show.

The calibration factor shows up under the Vehicle Setup... Calibration... Calibrate MPG/Fuel menu.

Its similar to the Civic too. I am interested to see what people are seeing about everything(fuel trims, mpg, correction, timing, cat temps,o2 sensor volts).

I just bought one 3 days to go through their website. It shipped 2 days ago from Roseville, California and should be arriving today. I never used the scangauge and was drawn to the ultragauge because of the price. I paid 68.95 + 7.56 for shipping. There is a $9 mail-in rebate that they throw in there, but I heard it's a pita to follow through with. I will let you guys know when I get it. I will be using it on my 2008 Honda Fit Sport (manual trans). I am curious as to what kinds of functions our ODBII connector will report to the UltraGauge. I guess I will find out today.

You're going to like what you see. First page of this post summarizes the gauges available on the FIT for you.

Printing out the on-line manual will also help you out a whole lot with set-up and gauge info.

I'm pretty happy with mine so far, but I need to reprogram the last page. Not sure if I like it scrolling / advancing pages automatically, so I have it set to my primary page of gauges right now. Overall, well worth the money.

The rebate process is a PITA but I went through and completed it last week. Could take up to 10 weeks acording to the manufacturer.

Scrolling is okay, but I turned it off. Pressing the page down button on the back will get you through the screens. I've set up the pages, will post the set-up soon.

How did the calibration go for you?

Very easy KC, no problems whatsoever on setup. My main page shows RPM, intake temp, coolant temp, barometric, and voltage which is what I like to keep tabs on, especially when summer weather rolls around down here in the desert. Suggestions for pages 2 and 3 are welcomed!

Just received my ultragauge and hooked it up. Haven't had much time to set it up properly yet. But I did enter in the vehicle information right away to get it started. 10.8 Gallon Tank and 1.5 L motor. It displayed MPG information right away on the first screen. I will get it set up more and post my information here. Any other helpful setup information would be appreciated.

Zekers, what year is your Fit? Fuel capacity on my 2011 is 10.6 gallons (page 321 of owner's manual - specifications). It's only .2 but it will throw calculations off on the Ultragauge.

To be exact - 1.496 Liter, 10.6gal
Not sure if the UG splits hairs but those are the numbers.

I'm interested in the following:

UG is pulling the mileage through the ECU and I'm wondering why it might be a bit off from the ODO readings. Again, I'm running stock tires.

After running the MPG calculation a few times I'm seeing a 1.3 correction factor. UG avg MPG seems to run a bit low most times.

Just did a double check and downloaded the 2008 Owners Manual.
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/grea...load-free.html
(Mine was lost by it's previous owner) and it says this on page 282:
Fuel Tank Capacity:
10.8 US gal (41 litres)

*But good to know that the GE has a 10.6 US gal

Come on man, you know you want to boost that little bomb so you can add more cool looking gauges and scare the panties off of female hitch hikers you pickup when out on one of your jaunts across country while in search of the vertical smile at the top of the inverted Y.

Mine is mounted the same way as Krimson's ultragauge but just a bit lower, similar to his GPS. I was able to run the wire behind the rubber door molding so it looks very clean. The only problem is I can't remove it easily for anti-theft purposes.

Ha - you're seeing right through me. Who ever sees hitch hikers anymore... that's part of the problem.
