Hey guys,

I'm TOTALLY NEW with the Honda Fit AND with cars actually

Just bought my first car last week, a HONDA FIT, and now browsing forums already to learn everything I can about this beauty

So where is the blackbox located, and it is possible for me to retrieve the information on a computer? Wow so excited to learn about it

 

The blackbox, as in aircraft service, does not exist ...yet. But if the recent Toyota Prius attempted blackmail is any indication it soon will be as manufacturers seek to deffend themselves from the legal hounds. And it should be guarded by manufacturers deep in the ECU such as to be obtainable only by a code that you are not easily going to obtain.
Its there to protect the manufacurer from those wishing to profit by chicanery. Probably the last 5 minutes of accelerator and brake positions, rpm, mph, gear selection, and steering positions will be on the list of information.

 

I don’t have a problem if a device in my car is collecting information about my driving behavior, just wished I could access it. I LOVE data.

I have seen blackbox-like devices on Amazon.

I think I’m just going to order one.

If anyone has any recommendations, please do…

 

I think the Fit has an event recorder. Didn't I read that somewhere? Stores the last ten or twelve seconds of data or some such. Maybe I'm all wet but I think it's buried in the chips somewhere.
