I bought it because it was on sale but have not used it yet.... is it effective? should I return it?
I would still recommend using a sunshade not only for the UV protection but for the overall reduction of heat build-up in the entire vehicle.

However, I do use the heatshield primarily seasonally. In the Fall and Winter, Pacific Northwest conditions don't usually warrant useage.

During the hottest months of Summer I use the heatshield and 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I don't particularly like the look of Armor All, or any higher gloss UV protectant. But 303 get's good reviews for protection.

Purchased my sunshade from the Honda dealer... something like 30 to 40 bucks. It was worth it because it fits perfectly.

The only downside is that it is unwieldy to install and remove given it is all one piece and needs to be rolled up for storage behind the front seats.

I'm usually alone in the vehicle so it isn't an issue, but if you have a passenger in the front they may not enjoy the sunshade bumping them as you roll it.

A good fitting sunshade and tint is a must here in Texas. Better yet to have a carport or garage.

Don't Do it!

I am a die-hard user of Armor-All, but I found that it really does NOT work well on the dash materials of the Fit. The overall effect is not smooth and shiny, but mottled and blotchy. After one try, i just resorted to using the sunshade as necessary. Just my .02 worth!
