Mobile Phones

With the advent of navigation apps for our mobile phones, do you put your mobile phone on your lap while navigating?

No, I put it on a stand that slides and locks into the opening of the CD player on the stock radio (this one).

PEASE DON'T!!! That would be very dangerous for you and the rest of us on the road with you... not to mention suicidal... Bad enough that some people still try to text while driving. There are universal hands free phone holders out there much like the GPS holders. Get one, please!

I do use my phone for nav and use the aux plug to send voice to the spkers (I also use my google music online storage for car tunes via the phone).

The phone is on a tilt/swivel proclip with an A-pillar mount so it is just to the left of the steering wheel and near the view out of the windshield. I also use a blueant s4 on the visor for handsfree texting and dialing. That's a bit buggy though.

The proclip has been great so far. The phone is rock solid in it and the A-pillar fit is tight, but I can still quickly pull the mount off and put it on the floor if I needed.

Hey could you please post a couple pics of this? I'm thinking about getting one of these. Looks like great ratings on Amazon.

I finally entered the 21st century, and got a Garmin GPS with Bluetooth. The phone goes in the little slot to the left of the parking brake. When paired with the phone, the GPS delivers all the functionality of the phone — hands free.

Thank you for the pictures B-Blue! That mount actually looks pretty slick... and considering I don't use the CD player in my car, certainly wouldn't get in my way (all my music comes from my jump drive, no radio, no CD).

I will certainly keep that mount in mind when I finally make the jump to a smart phone!
