Yup. We put down a deposit for a Base manual Vivid blue fit! I cant wait! Dealer said it should be three to four months. The only option I really had my heart set on was the iPod link. The honda website says $200 but the dealership wanted $420! Is that a normal charge?

Actually, if you go to a website like H and A Accessories or College Hills Honda, you can get that option for around $167. That doesn't include install, so you can either do it yourself or hire the dealer just for labor. Or, print out one of thoe website's price sheet and see if they'll come down. I wouldn't pay $420. IIRC, when Fit shopping I think I saw a dealer charging $800!

Usually Dealer Charges $80/hr To Install.. It Only Takes A Hour.

*It actually takes less but they charge the full hour*

you might want to check around here on fitfreak, I think a lot of music link purchasers are unhappy.

I originally ordered the Ipod link accessory, then decided to save the money and just use the aux jack. Very happy. Have heard too many folks who are dissatisfied with the Music Link. Glad to have saved the money for what is likely a rip-off.

I saw one of the modding shows on tv a while back, where they installed the iPod dock into a car. It was some athletes giant SUV, so room wasn't a problem, but for the audiophiles who think the iPod headset output attenuates the signal too much, this might be an alternative (unless the dock output is just as bad as the headphone out). With some skill and imagination, you could have a pretty wizbang setup. Who is going to be the first to put a MacMini in their Fit?

There's a really deep hole next to the AUX in jack. I just leave my dock there, with a right angled 1/8 male to male cable, and plug my ipod in when i get into the car.
Not so good for adjusting songs though

Have you applied power to the dock, or just run off the iPod battery?
