Should I do aftermarkets?

Hey y'all, I drive my 08 Fit Sport and love it to death so far! I was wondering about one thing though.

My fit will be my DD for time to come and I really love being on the auto crossing track buy I am worried about tearing up my main car. (Only car). I was wondering if I should look into getting an older Honda (prelude or crx) to drive Autocross and drop after markets in... my.main concern is messing up my only car at the moment but I know the fit would be a great little thing to run through slalom.

What are you ideas FF?

It all depends on what mods you are talking about. Anything short of an engine swap or forced induction is plenty doable for a daily driver. Those are better left to someone with a backup vehicle in case the install takes longer than planned.

There are so few mechanical failures related to Fit's that I wouldn't hesitate for one second to flog the heck out of it on a racetrack and then plan on driving it to work the next day. Just don't wreck it

For autocross I wouldn't worry about running your daily if you're just having fun. It's not like it's wheel to wheel and the chances of you balling the car up are pretty low. Might get some paint cracks or whatever from hitting cones but who cares.

If you're going to take it to a HPDE i'd recommend getting another car. IMO you shouldn't run a car on a racetrack that you don't feel comfortable writing off the same day if you wreck it.

Wanderer i feel the same way honestly. If i couldnt part with it then maybe i shouldnt run it like that... im going to see if i can find a cheap/cheaper car to run for races. Found a CRX the other day in town and asked how much they wanted for it... we will see how this goes.

Xbox and Forza 4 is the cheaper way. I can beat the heck out of it and it is brand new next time i want to drive crazy. Going to have my Granddaughters use it as they are getting their licensees soon.
