The Fit isn't bad at all but a GS model BMW twin with a custom made Corbin seat is the ultimate long distance machine.. I'm not as old as the old Canadian but have put my body through hell.. Chronic pain prevents me from enjoying travelling as much as I'd like so 8 hours is about as long as I can stand it in a Fit even with morphine and muscle relaxers... I'm real close to getting a nice older model Volvo wagon or more likely an old Northstar powered Cadillac for days when I have my Fit torn down or just want to arrive looking good.

My wife's car is not bad for long trips 2012 Camry XLE rated 35mpg highway. I am lucky long trips do not bother me like my wife who has back problems. 15 days I take my 95 Miata on a 1600 mile round trip to the Dragon's Tail.
