More Fits coming!

Honda CEO expects Fit sales to increase fourfold to 200,000

I can read between the lines here! Building it in Mexico now, a new design, expect sales to quadruple -- I know what that means!

It means the Fit is going to be cheaper. And probably nicer, too.

The current Fit is $18700 for the volume Sport Auto model with dest. That's only $1000 less than a Civic LX, and more than the $18,100 (before incentives!) on a Fiesta SE which is roughly comparable. I think we can expect the Fit to drop to a similar level, while adding in some content - an updated infotainment system is a must to be competitive. That Fiesta, by the way, is already mostly Mexican, meaning that Ford makes money on their Fiestas while Honda loses money on each Fit at present.

I don't know I would expect the base Fit to change much in price. Maybe. It's hardly expensive, but I guess at the lower end of the market $100 is a big difference to some people. Maybe they could just add in a few bits of standard equipment like FLOOR MATs or MAP LIGHTS or other very basic stuff they won't give you right now.

Plus the Fit crossover. I actually would assume this is like 1/3 of their projected sales ... I think it will sell well if the price is right. I mean, I wouldn't want it, but, you know
