New Fit Experiance
New Fit Experiance
Well Got my New fit at Pacific Honda Here in San Diego. Got a nice blue one. Told there is a 4 month waiting period for these cars now. got mine for MSRP.
For my first experiance with the fit it was pretty roomy, but it was picky about shifting. It couldn't decide when to shift sometimes, So I had to manually shift it. Sometimes it downshifts too soon, while braking and downshifts while going up ahill at 70 on cruise control, by which I have to release cruise control to maintain speed and gear.
The Paddle shifter take a bit to get used to, nearly three days. Suprising I found the paddle shifters easy to get use to, just have to feel it. For my first fill up here are the numbers. 9.5 gallons, 3.159 PG, $30.01, range 227.6, = 23.95 MPG. Not what I was expecting. Hopefully in the coming weeks this will resolve itself.
and rolling down the back windows cause a buffering at high speed that is annoying as hell. The doors are very light, kinda like a tin can. at First I was kinda optimistic about the seats, but after a while they seem fine. The car need a map light. No need for a dead pedal for me, but the carpet is cheap. Had to figit with the seating configuration for a while but got the hang of it. So far I owe $7551 to the credit union on my loan for this car, not bad at $183 a month for 4 years at 6.99%. Got free wheel locks, if it matters. the Dealer wanted to charge me 299 for paint and upholstery protection, $529 for Lojack. Was thinking about getting a extended warrenty for $795 for 7/100k. Opinions?
and there is a slight chemical smell in the first three hundred miles, brakes or transmission, shifter cause?(Different from new car smell) Also new car smell was overpowering giving me a headache.
Also the Back seats, in refresh mode are the front seats headrest suppose to come off or stay on, I was reading multiple articles that the headrests stay on, but I cannot figure out how so I remove them. In addition the fit somes with a two theft deterrent systems, so Why should I buy an Alarm? which cost me upwards of $200-400?? I just bought a Masterlock Steering wheel club at Walmart for $20. Sorry had a bit more the write up but I am having a brainfart so I can't think right now. will post after a few comments. Please leave your opinion thx.
--Sorry Brainfart again, I bought a Sport Auto for $18058, 16520 + 248, + 1290 tx
--Update--
Seems like after three hundred miles, that it is getting better gas mileage but I have to baby the accelerator and shift sooner. But we'll see. Dealer review- WEll I bought a pacific Honda, Because several people said it is better than buying near the border, and I have called around and found out that the fit is selling $500 more where I live than up north a bit. I think I got what I wanted at the price. But I was disappointed at the price of the trade in, My previous car was a 2001 Ford Taurus SES, Sucked gas at 20mpg, Blue book for this car is $3280 Fair, $2800 poor, and they gave me $2500. They told me that there were three people waiting for this car behind me and wasn't going to deal. So my choice was to wait four months or buy now, so I figured on buying.
--update 8-7- Well Guess What? I drove up to pacific Honda Saturday to pay off the balance of the car with my credit union check and one of the employees tapped my rear bumper!! I purposely parked in a an empty area where NO cars were and it still got hit. it made a small eraser sized scratch on my bumper. Unbelievable! So I got him to sign he was responsible and try to let him take care of it. Went back monday and he talked to thier used car dealer and wanted to repair the car. BUT, I am 37 miles from home and no way to get back. and The Used car Dealer was a prick, I did not trust him at all. So Im going through the insurance agency. Got a quote it will cost $307 to fix not including rental car. and I have a $500 deductable. So I'm waititng to get his insurance info and go through them.

Every article I know of states that you can leave the BACK headrests on in CARGO mode, which is true. As long as you slide the front seats up first, the headrests are able to be stored underneath the front seats.
