So I finally got my car back from the body shop after being in a hit and run accident... Unfortunately there are many things that were done improperly to my belief. The whole car reeks of paint and sealant, there are remnants of particles all over the car, there was paint tape left in areas (including gas tank), the left tail turn signal light that they replaced is not OEM yellow, there is a large rattling from the lift gate while driving(that was replaced) I will also add more in a moment... I was wondering if any of you could confirm some things to back me up in a way. I believe that the wiring in the back of my car was done improperly... When I lock and unlock the car, the signal lights in the back do not flash... Is this true on normal GE8s? As I recall, they did flash before the accident... As a fellow fit driver, I am begging to have your support and or guidance.

The rear tail lights, turn signals, and license plate lamps are all supposed to illuminate during locking and unlocking.

 

I really appreciate your swift response. This may be asking too much, but is there a way that you can video record you unlocking and locking your car? Or anyone for that matter? I appreciate your time and effort in helping me.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure any car that has a factory/aftermarket security system flashes the lights (fronts & rears) to indicate arming/disarming.

So if your rear lights don't blink when you arm/disarm, then they must have done something to it.

My suggestion is better return it to the people who repaired it and let them know your complains. You are a customer, the job isn't done until you're satisfied with the work they have performed.

 

i can confirm that your keyless remote will flash the front parking light, rear brake lights, and license plate lights only. it does NOT flash your turn signal. this is true for USDM GE8. elsewhere in the world, jazz/fit ge8s flash the turn signals.

 

By front parking lights, you mean the lights on the front of the car or the rear reverse lights.

 

Yea mine just flashes the front marker parking lights, plate lights and the rear brake lights.
