Uh oh. I think it started.

Just last week I did my first "mod" by getting the windows tinted after owning the car for 4 years but now only 3 days after tinting, I'm looking up CAI's, suspension mods and other goodies..

This reminds me of when I first bought my Harley. In the beginning I always swore that it would remain stock as the Harley engineers knew better than I did. 3 years later I bored it out and added cams.

(Update) a CAI is out as it appears to be useless or at least not with noticeable power difference

it isn't "useless" but the Intake combined with header and exhaust and a reflash will produce solid results. That may be out of the budget, but something you can work towards if you want.

cai

I picked one up after 4 years and while there is no power difference, It has a nice sound to it and has increased my mpg by 2 after 1k.

Not to mention gives others a reason to pay attention...this car gets bullied all the time in NYC!

Correct. In replacing just just intake and exhaust ALONE, at best you will simply have a more efficient engine as Santiad mentioned in getting a bit better mileage.

Just look on here for a used intake, exhaust, and springs.... I got mine for $330 for all three. The Fit roars with a good intake/exhaust combo.

might i suggest upgrading wheels and rims first, biggest noticeable difference would be to get lighter wheel/rim combo than current stock.

i did that and then upgraded to SS brakelines for better braking.

I 100% agree with Santiad, this car is a tailgate/cutoff/bumper-to-bumper parking magnet. have not been a year and both bumpers have been scratched/scraped/and bumped hard enough to have small dents in it.

"O" no it's the tint blocking all those "happy face" sunbeams making you want MORE POWER.

Good info on the intake, header, and muffler changes.

We all know how you feel about this. When I bought my Fit, I said I'm just gonna lower it and put nice wheels. But no, it's now an ongoing project.

Find some stuff used first to save money. And I agree getting lighter wheels and good tires as well, and then springs/coilovers if you want to go that route.

If you have a GE, I'd suggest holding off with the engine mods for now until Hondata releases a Flashpro for your generation because the ecu will just revert the settings back to stock. So my suggestion will be to focus on suspension mods for now and/or cosmetic modifications.

Unless you're willing to sink some $$, engine mods won't produce a great bang/buck. It's something that I wasn't even going to venture into, as the gains won't be that impressive. I decided the day I chose to mod the engine, would be the day I purchase a K20 to swap in. No CAI, header, exh. gains seem to justify the pricetag or performance gains, IMO. I would put the cash into suspension and tires. Then rest into track fees.
