Honda Owner Link?

I have been trying to register my Fit on Honda's Owner Link website without success. For some reason it will not recognize the VIN number. Has anyone else been able to register their Fit? My 2000 Accord has been registered for several years.

yes - no problems. Maybe check your vin for a typo? Double check what you have written down against what's on the car....

Exactly what trowpa said. Check the VIN on the paperwork and on the car, there could've been human error as was my case too, and my insurance asked me to recheck the VIN before starting coverage on my Fit.

The most common mistake is to mix up the number zero and the letter O.

the '5' can look like an 'S', i had that problem in mine when I was getting my loan. I called it an 'S'

Thanks for the advice, I tried all of the above without any luck. Even my insurance company had difficulty. I copied the VIN from the proof of insurance form and from the windshield.

This is a long shot but maybe the Honda Owner site requires a certain browser like IE 6.0? Or are you getting a specific "VIN not found" message when you enter the VIN?

I was able to register just fine. Hope you get it resolved, it's really handy to have that site.

For the 2007 USA Honda Fit, you're looking at a VIN that goes something like this:
JHMGD386... Sport w/Auto Trans
JHMGD376... Sport w/Manual Trans
JHMGD384... Base w/Auto Trans
JHMGD374... Base w/Manual Trans

...followed by a single-position check digit, then "7S", then a six digit sequence number.

So, there's only 7 of the 14 characters that you need to decipher, now!
