I'm considering selling my Storm Silver M/T fit. Here'a the list of things i have added to the car . Just wanted to see what you all's option. Am i asking too much.

If so how much do you guys think i can sell it for..

why are you selling?

 

Aftermarket mods such as springs/intake do not raise the value of the car it actually lowers it. The only way youd get the value of aftermarket mods is to find someone who is looking for those mods on their car...
Your better off removing the aftermarket stuff and bringing the car back to stock to sell....

 

...and sell the aftermarket stuff separately

 

Yeah, usually added things don't do jack for the value of the car, especially at dealerships. If you're selling privately, it might be harder to find a buyer that is willing to deal with the mods too- "If this guy has an intake....it probably means that he is a racer....which means that the engine most likely isn't in the best condition...so I shouldn't buy this car." is probably what goes on in people's heads.

Yeah, mods usually lower the price of the car....but being that the car is hard to get....especially the MT and many enthusiasts are the people looking to buy it, I think you could actually get more for it.

 

You probably won't get close to MSRP for the car, since ONE it's used, it lost value the moment you drove it off the dealers lot. And TWO, you modified it.

I'd think you'd be lucky to get 15k for it. Maybe 15.5.

You WILL NOT get all of your money back. Period.... unless you find some sucker that just wants your car (or any old Fit) that badly.

The fact that Fits are a bit more rare right now MIGHT help, but I seriously would put it out of your mind getting all of your money back.

 

asking $16,800 doesn't hurt, but be ready for people offering less. Given the impossibility of finding a MT Fit, you might come across the guy that doesn't want to wait and understands that all you've done is break in the engine for him. Couple that with the fact that a good number of the people buying these cars are buying for the fuel economy and features, not just because it's the only thing they can afford (those people get the Chevy Aveo )

 

yeah i was thinking about taking all mods off and returning it to stock. 16,8 was my initial offer price which i know i am not gonna get. i think 15,500 with all mods off should be a good point without mods i guess. thanks all for the input.. I am selling because i need a bigger car.. Expecting another addition to the family ...

 

If you were in Texas, and I had some way of trading in my car on it, I'd give you 15.5k for it.

I'll just have to wait for my white sport MT to come in!

I think your price is fine, you are not taking advantage of anyone for that price. people want the car now... If it does not have a scratch and is mint condition sell for what you said. in fact post it on this site for sale...

 

Is this your first child?

Just wondering if the Fit makes a good 'family' car. I don't have a family now, but may in a few years.

 

2nd.. its a good car for one kid
but if 2 its a little tought to fit 2 kids in the back and still be able to fit mom or dad in between

I would definitely take off the aftermarket parts, and return it to stock. If you get someone looking at it that looks the part (i.e., young male), you could offer to sell them your other parts for "x" dollars more. Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of people look right past your ad, thinking you've run your car hard.

If you do that (return to stock), then your other accessories (floor mats, cargo tray, paint protection, extended warranty, etc.) say "I loved this car, and wanted to protect it from damage, as much as possible." It's all a matter of perception.

Personally, I know when I'm looking through the used car ads, I don't even bother reading any that contain the words "swap", "mod", "CAI", "kit", etc.
