Lost "power" brakes!

Lost "power" brakes!
I was driving about 30mph, when someone turned left in front of me, so I braked hard, I took my foot off the brake, then the light turned yellow, so I broke hard again not to gun it, and I lost power assist. The brake pedal felt very hard, and I pressed it hard, and it was hardly stopping the fit.
Very dangerous, it also made a clunk sound. When I finally came to a stop, the "power" brake came back.
I guess 1.5 engine just doesn't produce enough vacuum & I ran out. I'm think I'm gonna try a vacuum reservior!

I would suggest you find a deserted street, and duplicate your problem stop.
if you can, and its a problem, take it to your dealer, and show him what you think is wrong. the wheels will not lock up if you jam on the brakes. thats the 4 wheel antilock

ABS doesn't neccesarily pulsate. I have yet to try them on the Fit but on my old S10 they just kind of got noisy and seemed like they weren't braking well. If I would let off and get back into them it would brake a lot harder though.

Well, I did a search on some honda forums,
apparently this is a quite a common problem.
I used up all the vacuum in the brake booster.
I will definitely due something to increase my
vacuum capacity.

the ABS system is working at ANY SPEED, find yourself an icy parking lot this winter and see for yourself, preferably an empty lot just get rolling and try to stop "normally". Snow will work too but ice will definately show you the ABS is working below 30 mph

ABS prevents wheels from locking preventing sliding/gliding. It comes on whenever you step on the brakes hard, it modulates the brakes w/c results in some weird brake feeling. That's my understanding of how it works.
