Are all dealers this bad?
Or am I just lucky.
Pre-arranged (a week) to have the following done at a Honda dealer. 1) change belt. 2) adjust valves. 3) flush brakes 4) wheel alignment.
So drive to dealer ~60miles (cause online review were good). Thirty minutes in to the work they come out and say they don't have a belt in stock and neither does any other parts/dealers. But if I come back tomorrow they'll have one. No just skip that part. So OK, 1-1/2 hours later they are back, brakes and alignment done, but....they don't have a valve gasket in stock but! not to worry they found one at a dealer and it'll be here in 3 hours, can you wait? Do I have a choice?
Well all said and done spent 7-1/2 hours to get the work done.
Just pissed cause this was scheduled work, not some walk-in request. Poor management by the repair department.
Brother who also has a FIT tells me this happened to him CV covers during an inspection.

That sounds about right. They do not order any parts until the mechanic says to.
I needed a CV boot replaced under warranty. I knew they would give me the same static. So I ordered the boot on the phone and did not pick it up. When I took the car in for the warranty repair, they tried to tell me that they would have to order one and to come back another day. I told them to take the one I ordered and use it. I then canceled my order for the part so they would not order a second one. That really screwed them up, but I got my car repaired in one trip.
