I parks it in the driveway, hit the lock button twice 'til I gets a beep. Next morning, I come out, it's unlocked. This has happened twice, and I'm getting serious grief from my wife about it, but I just discovered this morning it is UNLOCKING ITSELF! Anyone else had this? I tried doing the "Turn off Autolock" drill but failed to get the 2 clicks telling me it'd worked...possibly because I've got a 5 spd instead of auto? Anyone else had this? Thanks in advance...

 

Um...thanks. I figured it out. The flow chart in the OM is confusing, but I got the auto unlock turned off. You keep the door open, turn the key to II, hold down the master unlock button on the drivers door 'til you hear 2 clicks, then quickly turn key to OFF. You're done.
Still, auto unlock should NOT be arbitrarily unlocking the car after an unspecified interval, so something's not right...

 

Are you sure you're not accidentally hitting the unlock button on the fob when in tight pant pockets or something??? Although, come to think of it, on most cars I've owned, if you hit the unlock button and don't open the door within a certain period of time, they relock .....now I gotta go down to my garage and check it out. But I've never had the problem on my manual LX, and I do have the autolock feature enabled still.

 

OK .....failed to read the auto-unlock part, guess that isn't enabled on my car (bought it CPO), but, I retract the possibility of you accidentally hitting the unlock.....just checked mine and if I unlock it and don't open the door, it relocks itself in, oh, 20 secs, maybe....hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction......did disabling auto-unlock cure it? And you're right, it should not be unlocking on it's own...
